Hi, we’re Tony & Emily, founders of Kawai Jewellery and partners in both life and creativity, united by a shared love for travel, ocean living, and meaningful design.
Born in the coastal haven of Byron Bay, Australia, Kawai Jewellery was created to celebrate life’s colourful moments and the beauty of simplicity.
Where each collection begins
Our story begins in a charming bead store tucked away in the heart of Tokyo , a treasure trove lined with tiny drawers of sparkling Miyuki glass beads in every imaginable shade.
Each year, we wander its wooden aisles, hand-selecting colours that remind us of ocean tides, coral reefs, and golden sunsets. It’s there, surrounded by soft music and glistening trays of beads, that the inspiration foreach new collection truly begins.

Every piece is then handcrafted with care, blending Japanese artistry with the free-spirited soul of Byron Bay.
